September 2009, Yablunitsa village, Carpathian mountains, Ukraine. Fog covered the scene, penetrated every hollow, cloaked in houses and trees. It was yet very dark. Sky barely started changing from black to pink. My eyes could see very little in this semidarkness, which was more “darkness” than “semi”. And only when I made first shot I gasped with surprise. It was just any first open spot but next 30 minutes I couldn’t leave it. I appreciated every minute of these conditions and I was afraid of going away because they could disappear at the same time.
